Maties, Broach the rum cask and splice the main brace! There'll be no keelhauling for a time at NOPMS as we bask in the result of a super model show and contest. The new expended venue gave us lots more space, which eliminated the shoulder-to-shoulder crowding the old show area had. The added support of the Navy in celebrating the show theme with their Centennial of Naval Flight display was fantastic. Sponsors outdid themselves on the award side. Attendance and entry numbers were briskly up, which helped fill all of the newly expanded entry display area. Our raffle brought great enthusiasm from the attendees, and suggests that they'll be coming back for more next year. With 44 different entries vying for the Peoples Choice Award, and 15 of them getting multiple votes, speaks to the quality and broad appeal of the entries. Then, to have the eventual winner and runner-up separated by a single vote is almost too much to ask for. The post show pizza break for club members and guests was a nifty bonus.
